Translated from Ancient Greek "Orthodoxy" means "genuine teaching".
The program of excursion
Russia was christened into Orthodoxy in 988. Our ancestors chose it because they were struck by the majesty of church interiors and services in Byzantine churches.
During the tour we explore the churches of the ancient Kitay gorod area: Kazan cathedral — home church of the Romanov dynasty, St. Basil cathedral, Bogoyavlensky cathedral — one of the oldest ones in Moscow, St. Barbara church and St. George church on Pskov mountain.

We also visit the majestic and notorious Christ the Saviour Cathedral. You will learn: — The history of Russia adopting Orthodoxy — Main landmarks in the history of Russian Orthodox Church — Importance of Orthodoxy to Russian culture — Different types of religious institutions in Russia — Evolution of church architecture — Art of Russian icon-painting — Symbolic meaning of Russian church crosses and domes.
