In 1917 Petrograd was the true main city and the capital of the Russian Empire. It is here where took place the October Revolution that changed the whole world history. Soon Moscow became the official capital of Russia. However, even untill now St. Petersburg is considered to the the second important city of Russia.
In 1924 the city got the new name Leningrad in honour of the communist leaders Vladimir Lenin. The Soviet times history is full of tragedies, especially during the World War II. During this tour you will get to know the most important events of the communist past of St. Petersburg and see the main sights such as:

- Crosses Prison, infamous Soviet prison
